I recently had the opportunity to review a great book from Squishy Press that my daughter just adores. The title of the book is Opposites and it is a picture book featuring children paired together to portray the opposite of one another. Each page includes an expressive image against a vibrant colored background  with the corresponding word written in three languages – English, Spanish and French. My daughter immediately responded to the bright pages and bold faces of the kids. Every time we read the book, she points at the faces and  then kisses the page…it is just adorable to watch. The best part is that it is okay for her to kiss the pages since all books from Squishy Press are environmentally-friendly. the books are as “green” as you can get – printed with wind power on 100% post-consumer recycled paper using low-VOC soy based inks.

Squishy Press books are recommended for ages 3 and under, but I think the Opposites book is also great for slightly older kids as well. My 4 1/2 year old nephew thought it was great that he could identify the word just by looking at the picture and wanted to hear me say the word in all three languages before turning the page. I is a great confidence builder and a helpful stepping stone to get him excited about books and introduce him to new languages.
